FACT 01

I was born in a tiny town called Vryburg in the middle of nowhere, South Africa. We moved to “The Big City” (Durban, ha!) when I was 5 years old, and that’s where I grew up.

I was the 4th generation at my small school, and I went there from the age of 5 until I finished at 18. It was the most nurturing and supportive environment. I now appreciate how lucky I was to have had that stability while growing up.

FACT 03

I met my husband, Simon, 3 weeks after arriving in Hong Kong in March 2010. For my first 3 years in the city, I was a nanny for the most wonderful family of 5 children. Photographing those children is what led me to start my photography business in 2012.

FACT 04

Although I only have 1 younger brother, I come from a huge family - I have 36 first cousins. I am incredibly close to my family and my parents usually visit Hong Kong at least 3 times a year.
