My Top 5 Reasons for Hiring a Family Photographer

I know the dilemma people often face when deciding whether or not to hire a photographer to take family photos. Will it be expensive? What if I don’t like the photos? Is it worth it? I can assure you that yes, it is! Here are my top 5 reasons for hiring a family photographer.

1. Capture memories

Family photos are a unique and timeless way to capture special moments together. Hiring a photographer to take family photos of a significant milestone for your family, such as the birth of your first child (or fourth!) or their high school graduation, freezes the memory in time -  you’ll always have the photos to transport you back to those precious moments.

 2. Create the perfect gift

Whether you design beautiful greeting cards with your family photo adorning the front, create an album, or have your favourite shot framed - a photograph creates the most precious gift. It’s personal, memorable and something that’ll still be loved years and years on.

3. Document your child’s growth

Let’s be honest, the first shock that comes with becoming a parent is the realisation that your little ones grow like beanstalks! Family photos are a wonderful way to document your child’s life over the years. Collecting photos weaves together a beautiful visual journey of your child's growth that you, and they, will most definitely love perusing for years to come.

4. Bond as a family

Despite all the camera shyness and nerves (that both quickly disappear, often thanks to my pink flamingo), having a family photoshoot is FUN! I can guarantee there will be lots of laughs and funny moments that’ll form precious memories and become yet another special moment your family has shared together.

5. Create family history

Some of my best memories include looking at old photos of my parents, my grandparents, and even their grandparents! These photo collections may well be what inspired me to become a photographer. As much as family photos are lovely to have for yourself now, they will become treasured pieces of family history that generations will be able to look at and feel a deeper connection to the family they’re a part of.

There you have it. And if you need more convincing, or would like to book a session, please feel free to reach out.
